.... well, sort of! It's the final count down to the 'teamTARDIS' trip to London to see the Doctor Who Exhibition. Unfortunately not everyone can make it (you'll be missed Hollie!) but it should make for a good day out all in all. Gave me an excuse to book a day off work too so I won't have to go in looking like hell the next day!

Shall be out at the crack of dawn so I can get the early coach (I'm talkin' like 8:00 am) and thankfully shouldn't have to contend with damn trains thanks to my masterful way of convincing my father to come get me from London in exchange for my helping him do some gardening on my day off. Captain Jack does it again!

Although the Exhibition will be fun I think the highlight of the day will be seeing the open air screening of the final episode of series four. That is ... if we're even able to get in! It's going to be held at one of the 'Gay Pride' events apparently so that should be interesting.

No doubt there will be much fun to be had and many random photos to be posted somewhere! Naturally we'll all be in cosplay. So if you see Captain Jack, Rose Tyler, the Tenth Doctor and various other companions wandering London don't panic! You've not gone crazy! Would love to be able to take some props along (like my revolver prop) but no doubt the police would have a friggin' field day.


Anyway on to some October Expo Cosplay News! Might not be cosplaying as Amon now if I can't manage to get enough funds together. Sort of sucks but right now most of my money is going into making sure I can actually /get/ to the Expo! So instead I'll probably be cosplaying Sosuke from Full Metal Panic. That should be easy enough!

Yeah, I know, inventive title but eh I couldn't think of what else to put. So yeah haven't really put much in here in a while have I? Really need to keep this journal up-to-date! Before I get into random rambling/musing/wtf is he on about? mode I just wanna say thank you to the 2367+ people who've come to poke around my page. I feels so lobved! Annnnnyway lets get this started ...

[College]

I've been finished for about a couple of weeks now; whee! It's sort of strange to have so much free time. I only really work one day a week at the moment so I've just being doing odd bits around the house (breaking the habit of a lifetime might I add!) and looking into getting another job. I don't so much hate my current one as need one with more hours! Anyone else who's looking for work right now will know that it's kind of that weird quiet period where there isn't really much going. Don't suppose anyone knows of someone looking to take an amature photographer on?

[Cosplay & Expos]

I've already started my plottings for the October MCM Expo down in London! After much deliberation (and anyone who's spoken to me on MSN in the last month knows how much of a pain in the ass I've been about this!) I've settled on cosplaying Amon from Witch Hunter Robin on the Saturday & for the Cosplay Ball. Sunday will be "teamTARDIS Day" so I'll be back as good old Captain Jack Harkness!

Amon's outfit is easy enough to put together ... well except for the jacket ([link]) but I figure if I can't find one of a similar design that I can moddify I'll probably have to get it custom made. Not too bothered about the price as it'll be something I can wear outside of cosplaying him! Before anyone says it - yes I will just be cosplaying him in his "round the office" outfit. The full get up will friggin' kill me in the ExCeL center!

The Orbo Necklace should be easy enough to make too. The gun however's gonna be the bitch. If anyone reading this just so happens to be good at making gun props could you leave me a message? I could really do with some pointers!

[The 100 Photo Challenge]

So as I'm sure a lot of you have noticed; I've been taking part in the 100 Photo Challenge. It's a lot of fun actually; really gets your mind going! I'd recommend it for anyone looking for something creative to do. If you want to see what I've done so far either check out my journal entry [link] or just poke around in my gallery. They're all in one folder in there. I'm in the process of thinking about which ones I want to do next. I sort of have an idea for "Magic" but I don't wanna go into it too much in case it totally sucks!

So yeah - I'm in a cosplay group now! is (if you haven't guessed!) a Doctor Who cosplay group that formed at the May MCM Expo this year! We're still looking for people to cosplay as some of the cast of both Doctor Who & Torchwood so if you're a fan of either series go check out our DA page. Be sure to tell 'em that Jack sent you

Totally looking forward to our trip to see the Doctor Who Exhibition in a few weeks time. Should be pretty darn fun and it'll be cool to see everyone again outside of the Expo.

[Random Musings]

I finally have 'Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII' *insert fanboy squee here* and shall be getting around to starting it sometime today! I heard a lot of mixed opinions about this game but I'm going to reserve judgement until I've played it myself. No. 7 was the first one I played so it'll always hold a special place in my RPG Fanboy heart! Plus it should be cool to play Zack ...

Have you ever noticed how the strangest things seem to relax you or calm you down? I ask because I'd forgotten just how much cooking calms me. Is that weird? What do you do to relax or calm down when the world flicks you off?

To all of you who've said such nice things about my cosplay photographs, added them to your favorites or added me to your watch list. I just want to say thank you so much! You have no clue how much it means to me It's been a real confidence booster to say the least and I'm glad so many people have been able to enjoy my photography!

Just a quick side note though to anyone who might want to use my photographs. Please bear in mind that (unless stated otherwise) these photos are copyrighted to myself. So if you're going to link to them elsewhere or show them elsewhere I do ask that you please credit them to myself and link back to my deviantart page or my photography myspace (myspace.com/rickcolephoto). If too many people start using my photography without my permission then I'll have to start adding watermarks to them and I really don't want to have to do that!
