Righto, since I failed epically at uploading the photos from October Expo I've decided I'm going to take a firmer approach to doing the ones for the MCM Expo just gone. So periodically over the next couple of weeks you'll be seeing bursts of uploads from me. I've got to say, I'm really freakin' pleased with how the majority of these shots turned out! Some of them that I thought would be ok had blurred and some of the contest ones I can't use due to poor angling on my part (mental note - get better spot next time) but there's a large chunk that are awesome.

Also, for any :iconteamtardis: fans, keep an eye out for some shots from the shoot I did with them on the Saturday evening. It'll be some awesome stuff people!

As always, if you want to use my photographs for anything PLEASE either comment and/or note me to ask my permission first. All the posted shots (bar those were I specifically state otherwise) are copyright of myself. If you do use them elsewhere all I ask is that you credit me for the shot, link back to my page and send me a link of the piece the shot was used for. Simples eh?

Anyways, that's all for now! No doubt there'll be an obligatory Expo Blog at some point.

Peace out.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the favorite on "What Is Love All About?." It is appreciated.

I hope that love has either found you already, or will soon. It took me two failures to figure it out. Did I tell you I just celebrated 19 years with my partner on the 13th?

I see you have many photos of the London MCM Expo. What exactly is that—I am quite old you know, lol?

Hi Matthew,

You're very welcome, I found it an interesting read. The subject of love is one I'd really rather not go too deep into on this, a rather public, forum but it is safe to say I've yet to find it. There have been moments in the past where I thought I had but two failures, the last more pressing than the first, have left me jaded I suppose. No, you didn't mention that - congratulations :]

The London MCM Expo is a Movies, Comics and Media convention held twice a year at the ExCeL Center in London. It brings together a host of different talent - from authors and comic artists to faces from the world of television, film and japanimation. It's held over two days, generally on the second to last weekend of May and October. I've attended four so far and find them to be (for the most part) enjoyable experiences.

While there I tend to take a lot of photos of the various 'Cosplayers' I come across (if I'm not in costume myself at the time). Cosplay is, for lack of a better way of putting it, much like fancy dress. Except instead of "gorilla" outfits or other such things, people dress as characters from video games, japanimation or manga ... or any other medium it could be possibly to throw a costume together from!

I hope that answers your question :] I'll get to your other comments in due course. I have taken into account your comment on copyrighting - I think perhaps it is time I marked my photographs.

Rick,

If you ever want to talk about something in private, just send me a NOTE.

As for Love, I got I got hurt horribly. When my second partner left, I ended up attempting suicide and almost succeeded. But I never gave up on it, maybe because I wanted and needed it so badly. I had to learn how to recognize those who would be healthy for me, and to understand what was real love and what was love driven by need. Oddly enough, I had decide to stop looking and let the process happen more organically, and to focus on learning to have fun on my own. I had been living through other people (codependency). After a year, Greg came into my life.

Thanks for the info. It looks like it would be fun to see.

You have every right to take pride in your work. As an artist who does traditional media too, adding your name and date is something that has been does for many centuries, and it shows pride and ownership of your own work. Digital art is that way too. If you buy Photographic prints from a gallery, they are often signed. When posting art of any media, it has been digitized, which makes it very vulnerable to casual theft. Which is why I recommend watermarking all work. Yes, it is a pain in the ass.

Matthew,

Thank you, that offer is appreciated more than you might perhaps realize and I think I will take you up on it sometime. Although I will not burden you with too much as I'm sure you have problems of your own that you must deal with, as we all have. I think that perhaps, for one reason and another, I've forgotten how to tell the difference. How does that saying go, 'When you don't look, you find'?

You're welcome! They're certainly interesting events to attend - as long as you don't have issues with large groups of people.

From time to time I do some traditional media work, although it's more for my personal enjoyment than anything else as my drawing skills are somewhat lacking! Haha - it might be a pain in the ass but it will benefit me in the long run I'm sure.

You are welcome. I find the best way to deal with pain and loss of function is to try to help others.

Most of my time is spent corresponding with young people with problems of depression, anorexia, suicide, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation, physical abuse, rape, sexual issues, gay issues, etc. I am sure your problems will be no more of a burden, lol. That is why I have so little time for DA.

When everything bad has happened to you, you can relate easily to those who are experiencing them. I am a compassion centered person, generally non-judgmental (unless you are hurting kids), listen, care, don't preach, and never tell anyone what to do or not to do. A lot of it is very simple matters of listening, putting things in perspective, offering my input, etc. Pretty low key, some a quick in and out.

In severe cases, I use a combination of cognitive and behavioral approach to changing thought patterns, so that self-worth, self-esteem, self-image, and self-confidence can be improved. The idea is for people to be able to find a measure of happiness, contentment and fulfillment in their lives. Anyone doing it does it through free choice and desire to change.

Problems can seem momentous and actually by not much of anything, but they can also seem be of little note, when they are actually very momentous. Is that a nonsensical statement of what. Time to go.

Take care,

Matthew
